Easier to manage categories on a phone, and planning nudges now explain themselves.
New Choose what goes on your calendars. In Settings, Connections, pick everything with a date, only your own tasks, or only tasks you pick. Then, on any task with a date, switch it on or off for your calendar. Each person in a household chooses for themselves.
Improved A task in Someday now has no date: the date field disappears, any old date is cleared, and it stays off your calendars until you wake it up.
Improved Reminders now repair themselves. If your phone's notification connection is lost or goes stale, Punch List reconnects it quietly the next time you open the app, so you don't have to turn reminders off and on.
Improved Signing in with Google now connects to your existing account automatically, even when Gmail spells your address differently (for example john.strommen and johnstrommen). No manual linking.
New When you add a single task, it now jumps to the top of the list with its details open, so you can set the date, priority, category or notes right away.
New Put your menu in the order you like. In Settings, Appearance, Menu order, move All, Calendar, Inbox, Today, your categories, Someday and Done up or down. The order is saved to your account and is the same on your phone and your computer.
Improved The app no longer jumps around while it loads. Your tabs, counts and the details panel appear in place straight away, with soft placeholders where your tasks will be, and messages now float at the bottom of the screen instead of pushing the list down.
Fixed On iPhone, typing in a task's Notes (and the add box) no longer jumps, zooms or loses letters while it saves.
Fixed On iPhone, the Due date and Repeats boxes in a task no longer overlap.
Fixed Disconnect on the Google Calendar and Google Tasks cards now asks you to tap Confirm, then disconnects. Before, the button did not visibly change.
Fixed Today's focus and Ask Punch List AI no longer show stray asterisks around task names.
Improved Settings, Connections now shows exactly what Google's "hasn't verified this app" screen looks like for Google Tasks and which two links to tap, with the spots highlighted.
Improved Disconnecting Google Calendar or Google Tasks, and syncing, now show a spinner while they work.
New Assign a task as you add it: pick a shared category and an Assign to menu appears under the add box.
Improved A task someone handed you now shows who it is from, like You from Kathy.
New You can delete your account yourself in Settings, Account. Everything private to you is deleted, and lists and tasks you shared stay with your household.
New Set your name in Settings, Account. Your household sees it on assigned tasks, and the notification reads like "Kathy assigned you a task".
Improved The getting started list is easier to use: numbered steps instead of empty circles, a Not now button on every step, a new step for adding several tasks at once, and a close button that tucks the list into a small Getting started pill you can reopen any time.
New Adding several tasks at once is easier to find: the add box tells you to separate tasks with commas or lines, shows a live count while you type a list (the button reads Add 6), and confirms how many were added.
New Each category in Settings now explains what Include in planning nudges does, with a short How planning nudges work guide.
Improved Add category in the task menus now opens a proper New category window: name, private or shared, planning nudges on or off, and optional subcategories, all without opening Settings.
Improved Settings, Categories now puts Add a category at the top, with a short guide to categories, sharing and subcategories.
New The category menus when you add a task or scan a photo now end with Add category, so you can create one without leaving what you are doing.
Improved Settings, Categories no longer scrolls inside itself on a phone.
Improved The Calendar's No due date list leaves out categories you turned planning nudges off for, like Shopping.
Fixed Due date and Repeats no longer overlap in a task's details.
New Settings, Account now shows your app version and a Check for updates button.
New After you send a test notification, Punch List asks whether it appeared and, if not, shows steps for your device.
Improved On narrow phones the add-task box now fits its hint on one line.

Assign tasks to people in your household
Hand a shared task to someone and see who is on what.
New Assign any shared task to a member of your household from the task details. The person gets a notification, and their name shows on the task.
New An Assigned tab in the menu shows every task someone has been handed, across all your categories. Group it by person, or sort by due date or priority, filter to one person or one category, and hide the groups you don't need.
New Filter the All tab by who a task is assigned to: Me, Unassigned, or any person in your household.
Improved Reminders and your Monday plan email now go to the person a task is assigned to. Tasks nobody owns still remind everyone.
Improved If someone leaves the household, their tasks go back to unassigned.
New A Suggest a feature page on the website (and a link in Settings and on this page), so you can tell us what would make Punch List better.
Improved Punch List now picks up new versions on its own. If a copy stays open for days, it refreshes itself when you come back, or shows a small bar with an Update button if you are in the middle of something.

Your Monday plan email, and a friendlier sign-in
Start each week with a plan in your inbox, and signing up and signing in is clearer and safer.
New A Monday plan email: every Monday morning Punch List AI sends a short note with what you finished last week, what is still open, a day-by-day view of your week, and a nudge to give a day to anything unscheduled.
New Everything in the Monday email is tappable. A task opens right in the app, a day opens the calendar on that day, and Plan them now starts the planning flow. Turn it off or send yourself a preview in Settings, Reminders.
New If your list is still empty, you get a friendly Monday email with pictures and a short tour instead, to help you add your first task. It stops after a few weeks.
New A getting started checklist for new accounts: add your first task, scan something, forward an email, invite your household, turn on reminders and add Punch List to your home screen.
New Forgot your password? Request a reset link by email and choose a new one.
New A password strength meter when you create an account, with tips for choosing a strong one.
Improved The sign-in page opens on Sign in or Create account depending on the link you used, and shows what you get with a free account. It works well on phones.
Improved A new look for the confirmation email, with a clearer welcome.
Improved A new set of custom icons replaces the emoji across the app, so everything looks consistent on every device.
Fixed The Home Screen and notification icons were cropped on some devices.

A new blue look, and an easier way to install Punch List
Punch List has a fresh blue look and a new icon, and a new page walks you through adding it to your phone or computer.
Improved Blue is the new default look, with a new app icon. The original amber is still one tap away in Settings.
New A page at mypunchlist.ai/install with pictures and a short video showing how to add Punch List to your iPhone, plus the steps for Chrome, Edge and Safari on a computer. Send the link to the family.
New A gentle reminder inside the app to install it and turn on notifications, which comes back every few days until you have done it (or told it to stop).
New Settings lists every device that gets reminders, with a Remove button for the ones you no longer use.
Improved The evening reminder now opens the calendar on tomorrow, so you see exactly what it mentioned.
New If a confirmation email doesn't arrive when you sign up, there is now a Send it again button and a tip to check your spam folder.
Fixed The quick date choices in Plan your tasks could highlight two options at once, for example Tomorrow and Next week on a Sunday. Each choice now has its own day.
Version 0.7 · beta
Reminders when your tasks are due
Punch List can now nudge you with a notification the morning a task is due.
New Reminders: a morning notification listing what is due today and what is overdue, and an optional evening heads-up for tomorrow. You choose the times, and shared household tasks remind everyone in the household.
New Install Punch List like an app on your phone or computer. It opens in its own window, and on an iPhone this is what lets reminders arrive.
New Send a test notification from Settings to check it works on your device.
Fixed Today's focus could say you were all caught up while you still had open tasks.
Version 0.6 · beta
Forward an email, get a task
Every account has a private email address. Forward a bill, a school note or a shipping confirmation to it and the tasks appear in your Inbox.
New Email to task: forward any email to your private Punch List address (Settings, Connections) and Punch List reads it and adds the tasks, with due dates and amounts filled in.
New It reads PDFs and photos attached to the email too, and keeps a bill or letter attached to its task so the original is one tap away.
New Shipping emails keep the full tracking number and link, and receipts and newsletters are left alone.
New An optional confirmation email after each forward tells you what was added. It is on by default and easy to turn off.
New A quick setup check in Settings: save the address as a contact, send a test email, and see it work.
Improved You can get a new address any time, and the old one stops working at once.
Version 0.5 · beta
Scan paper into tasks, attach files, and a tidier list
Take a photo of a handwritten list, a bill or a flyer and Punch List turns it into tasks. Tasks can now hold photos and files too.
New Scan to tasks: photograph a handwritten list, a calendar, a bill, a letter, a flyer or a grocery list, check what it found, and add it. Nothing is added until you say so.
New Bills become tasks like Pay the electric bill, with the due date and amount. Letters become the action they ask for, and grocery lists go to Shopping.
New Files on tasks: attach photos and files to any task. They are private to the people who can see the task, and they are deleted with it. A scan can keep the original photo with a bill, letter or drawing.
New A Done tab showing the last 30 days grouped by day, a searchable Archive for older tasks, and a setting for how long finished tasks stay in Done. Nothing is deleted without asking.
Improved Task rows have a select box on the left and a clear Done button on the right, and the list has a Select all / Unselect all bar.
Fixed Date and priority fields no longer overlap on phones, and the calendar's Move button no longer sits on top of Done.
Version 0.4 · beta
Plan your week, pick a color, and a proper desktop layout
Help to decide when things get done, five color themes, and a three-column layout on big screens.
New Planning: a Someday bucket, a count of tasks that still need a plan, and a short flow that walks you through them with quick choices like Today, Tomorrow, This weekend and Next week. A switch per category keeps lists like Shopping out of it.
New Color themes: Amber, Ocean, Sage, Plum and Graphite, saved to your account, in light and dark.
New On a computer, Punch List shows your lists, your tasks and the task details side by side.
New Settings are organised into sections: Appearance, Household, Connections, Categories and Account.
New Tap the circle to finish a task, with an Undo, and mark a task done from inside it. Press and hold a task (or Shift-click on a computer) to select several at once.
Improved Bigger tap targets, better contrast and keyboard and screen-reader support. Notes and names grow as you type, and the phone header is more compact.
Version 0.3 · beta
A calendar, and Google
See your tasks on a calendar and, if you like, keep them in step with Google.
New A Calendar tab with a month view. On a computer, drag a task to a new day; on a phone, tap Schedule or Move and pick the day. Overdue and upcoming tasks are listed underneath, and shared tasks are marked.
New Google Calendar: your tasks with due dates appear in a separate Punch List calendar. Move an event in Google and the task moves; finish a task and the event goes. Google's review is still in progress, so for now this works for invited testers.
New Google Tasks: bring your Google Tasks lists in and keep them in sync both ways (same note about testers).
New Select all and Unselect all for each tab and each subcategory.
New A privacy policy page that explains what is stored and what is sent to Google or the AI.
Improved Messages disappear on their own after a few seconds.
Version 0.2 · beta
Households and sharing
Punch List is now built for more than one person. Invite the people you live with and share the lists that matter.
New Households: invite people by email or link. A household can have more than one Head, people can leave, and Heads can remove members.
New Shared categories: anyone can turn a category like Kids into a shared one, and everyone in the household sees its tasks.
New Invitation emails come from Punch List itself, with a welcome screen for the person you invited and a clearer Check your email step when creating an account.
New An All tab that sorts by priority or due date and filters by several categories at once. Each person picks their own default sort in Settings.
New Rename a task by editing its name.
New Punch List now lives at mypunchlist.ai, with its own icon.
Improved A cleaner phone header: a wider add box, an Ask AI box that can't be mistaken for search, and a logo that lines up with the name.
Fixed The notes box no longer jumps out of the field while you type.
Version 0.1 · beta

New Today's focus: a short AI summary of what deserves your attention today.
